Individual (1:1) Learning Assistant (ILA) in Primary and Secondary School

The Vienna International School is looking to recruit the following positions as of August 2025:

  • Part-time or full-time employment (percentage expected to be between 38% and 100%)
  • fixed-term until the last day of school 2025/26 (parent-funded)
  • expected starting date: 20 August, 2025
  • ESS working conditions - depending on years of relevant training and experience: gross monthly salary full-time between € 2.765,25 and € 3.730,66

Competencies & Experience:

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs
  • Have knowledge of the implementation of behavioral interventions and behavior modification plans for students with diverse needs
  • Have knowledge of emotional regulation and sensory processing strategies of students with diverse needs
  • Be able to implement proactive and preventative approaches to support students
  • Have the ability to communicate in a calm and consistent manner
  • Prior experience working successfully with students or children
  • Experience working with students with identified learning needs is an asset
  • Qualifications in special education are desirable
  • Fluency in English
  • The proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in teams
  • The perseverance required to maintain high standards
  • Can draw upon a wide range of appropriate strategies to meet a student’s diverse learning, social, and behavioral needs
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and leadership staff

Extended Day Programme Group Leader (EDP) in Primary School; part-time position available

The Vienna International School is looking to recruit the following positions as of August 2025:

  • Part-time employment, daily from 15:00 until 17:30
  • Contract until the last day of school 2025/26
  • expected starting date: 25 August 2025
  • remuneration, depending on prior experience, in the range € 880,16 and € 1.187,44 per month for a 5-duty week
  • local candidates only

Competencies & Experience:

  • The post holder is responsible for the care of a group of students outside of the care school day.
  • Candidates are expected to have prior experience in working with primary age children and proven experience in implementing engaging age-appropriate activities for students, and in working collaboratively and flexibly in a team.

  • Full-time employment, 38,5 hrs./week
  • 30 days annual leave + 4 additional all-staff school holidays
  • An incentive salary, depending on previous work experience (between € 2.994,- and € 3.817,- gross per month, paid 14-times per year)
