The role of the VIS Competitive Sports Programme is to extend and supplement the regular curricular programmes of the school. Its aim is not only to promote excellence in sporting achievement, but also to cultivate the qualities of good sportsmanship i.e. cooperation, team work, respect for others, both on and off the field, and the ability to both win and lose with grace. To this end, all our athletes are expected to exhibit the highest standards of responsibility and behaviour in their pursuit of sporting excellence.

The VIS Competitive Sports Programme gives students the opportunity to compete against schools within the Danube Valley Athletic Conference (DVAC), and the International School Athletic Association. VIS offers a range of sports to allow the students to experience and enjoy a balanced programme, which aims to develop an all-round athlete.

We consider this programme an integral part of your child's education, and hope that you will encourage your child to take part. The following Middle School and (Junior) Varsity teams for boys and girls compete in three separate seasons:

  • Season 1: Soccer, High School Volleyball, Cross Country Running
  • Season 2: Basketball, Alpine Skiing
  • Season 3: Golf, Track & Field, Middle School Volleyball
