Primary School Principal & Child Protection Officer
Vienna International School is recruiting a Primary School Principal & Child Protection Officer for a 3-year appointment period commencing in August 2026. This position is a member of the Senior Leadership team, which includes the Primary and Secondary Principals and the Business Manager.
The Role
The Primary School Principal and Child Protection Officer is expected to:
- Provide educational leadership, curriculum, and professional development in the early years and primary school (ELC - Grade 5).
- Deliver high standards of education within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.
- Establish a professional working environment consistent with the Board of Governors' mission and policy.
- Manage the human and physical resources of the primary school.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of child protection and safeguarding within the Primary Division.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven Leadership: Experience in a senior-level leadership position and current teaching registration.
- Strategic Mindset: The ability to analyze data to identify learning trends and implement sustainable change.
- Values-Driven: A deep commitment to intercultural understanding and actively promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ).
- Expertise: An advanced degree in education (leadership/management focus) and previous experience as a Principal or Child Protection Officer is highly desirable.

Vienna International School is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Business Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team as of 1 June 2026 or earlier as of 1 April 2026.
The successful candidate will lead finance, procurement, and facilities, ensuring strong financial stewardship, effective campus development, and full regulatory compliance. Working closely with the Director and Board of Governors, the Business Manager plays a central role in shaping the school’s operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Vienna International School is seeking a talented and committed individual to support our Middle School Competitive Volleyball Programme.
Spring Season: March 16 – May 30, 2026
Location: Vienna, Austria
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and lead volleyball training sessions
- Coach students during practices and competitive matches
- Support student skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Work with students in an international school environment
Qualified candidates should have:
- Experience coaching volleyball (middle school and/or competitive level preferred)
- Good communication skills in English
- A valid working permit
