German Teachers in Primary and Secondary School

The Vienna International School is looking to recruit the following positions as soon as possible:

German Teacher in Primary School

  • Full-time maternity cover (potentially part-time position) for a colleague on maternity leave
  • Local candidates only, please
  • Expected starting date: commencing August 2026
  • Primary Class Teacher qualification or German A Teacher certificate for Secondary Schools (‘Lehramt Deutsch’) required;
  • Additional qualification/ experience with special focus on German as a Foreign Language an advantage
  • Minimum experience 3 years
  • Qualification in teaching German as Foreign Language an advantage.
  • Our ideal candidates have experience with the International Baccalaureate Programmes (PYP) Grades, ELC to Grade 5
  • Candidates with an Austrian teaching certificate ('Lehramt') will receive preferential treatment.

  • 1-year contract, cover position for the school year 2026/27
  • Local candidates only please
  • Expected starting date: 01. August 2026
  • Minimum experience 3 years
  • German A Teacher certificate for Secondary Schools (‘Lehramt Deutsch’) required;
  • Qualification in teaching German as Foreign Language an advantage.
  • Our ideal candidates have experience with the International Baccalaureate Programmes (MYP and/or IBDP).
  • A desire and willingness to teach Grades 6 to 12 is essential
  • Candidates with an Austrian teaching certificate ('Lehramt') will receive preferential treatment.
