Student Admission Process for Academic Year 2023-2024

Vienna International School is a special place. Serving as a second home for our diverse student body, we aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where every student is accepted, appreciated and successful.

The mission of the Vienna International School (VIS) is to empower learners to achieve their potential in a nurturing and diverse environment, giving them the means and confidence to be successful and responsible in an evolving world. The school follows an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, a programme of international education designed to help students from the age of 3 to 18, by providing them with an education that is inspiring, inquiring and involved in a truly inclusive environment.

On top of an enriching curriculum, the School has an extensive extra-curricular programme that encompasses sports, music, mathematics competitions, Model United Nations, student publications and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, to name but a few. VIS has recently gained significant recognition for its work in developing a sustainable development agenda, being accredited as the first International Eco School in Austria, by three international institutions (Eco Schools, Global Schools & Umweltzeichen).

As you might be aware, VIS offers priority to children of officials of the International Organizations based in Austria and as specified by the Austrian Foreign Ministry, as well as children of members of a diplomatic or consular service, irrespective of their nationality.

In order for our School to plan accurately for the next school year, it is essential that applications for 2023-2024 will be filed as early as possible. Filing an application early also increases the chances of being accepted for August 2023 admission, as the date of the completed application plays an essential part in the admission process.
