VIS Bee Heroes: Running to Protect Nature

VIS Students and Families Take Action for the Bees

On 11 October, a group of enthusiastic VIS students and parents took part in the Happy Bee-Run, an event organized by Mr. Nikolaus Landertinger, a VIS Primary School parent. The run combined fun, fitness, and environmental action, all in support of protecting local bee populations.

Our VIS Eco Heroes gave their best effort, running laps to help gain a total of 600 square meters of protected bee meadows. These meadows will be dedicated to supporting bees and promoting biodiversity in our natural environment.

In just 15 minutes, the children collectively completed 40 laps, each measuring 750 meters, covering an impressive total of 30 kilometers. On average, each participant managed 2.85 laps, showing tremendous energy, teamwork, and commitment to the cause.

Beyond the numbers, the spirit of the event was what truly stood out. The children ran not to compete, but to collaborate— pacing themselves, encouraging one another, and working together to achieve a shared environmental goal. The atmosphere was filled with joy, teamwork, and a genuine sense of purpose.

This family-oriented community action perfectly reflects the dedication of our VIS students and families as active, conscious global citizens committed to making a positive impact on the world around them.

Well done, VIS Bee Heroes — you’ve run for the planet, and for the bees!
