On Wednesday, 22 October, the VIS community came together to celebrate Unity Day — a special occasion dedicated to promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion throughout our school.
Unity Day is a time for students, teachers, and staff to pause and reflect on how we can each contribute to making VIS an even kinder and more welcoming place for everyone. This year’s theme, “United for Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion,” encouraged every member of our community to take personal action toward creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Throughout the day, students from all grades engaged in classroom discussions and reflective activities centered on empathy, respect, and positive relationships. Each class explored practical ways to make a difference — from small acts of everyday kindness to larger efforts that build a culture of understanding and care.
To show their unity and commitment, students and staff were invited to wear orange, the official color of Unity Day. The vibrant sea of orange across the campus symbolized our collective promise to stand together against bullying and exclusion, and to continue fostering a school culture where everyone belongs.
At VIS, we believe that kindness is not just a single-day celebration, but a way of life. Unity Day served as a meaningful reminder that together, we can make our community stronger — one kind act at a time.
