On 20 November, VIS proudly hosted its first concert of the school year, bringing together students, staff, and families for a joyful celebration of music and performance. The event showcased the talent, dedication, and progress of students across the Performing Arts programme.
The concert opened with debut public performances by the Beginner Band and Primary Strings, who performed with confidence and enthusiasm. Their performances were further inspired by their peers in the Advanced Ensembles, demonstrating the strong sense of community and progression within the music department.
The Advanced Strings ensemble transported the audience to the Baroque era before presenting a beautifully expressive arrangement of an English folk song. This was followed by the Guitar Ensemble, whose uplifting rendition of Don’t Stop Believing was met with great enthusiasm from the audience. Adding further energy to the evening, the Jazz Band delighted listeners with lively Bossa Nova and Funk pieces that had many tapping along in their seats.
To conclude the concert, the High School Choir took to the stage, proudly showcasing the progress they have made since the beginning of the school year and bringing the evening to a fitting close.
The audience was also treated to a special contribution from Primary students, who shared their autumn-themed poems, adding a thoughtful and creative element to the programme. We extend our sincere thanks to the tutors, colleagues, and parents whose support and encouragement helped make the evening such a success.
The Performing Arts Department wishes everyone a relaxing weekend—and encourages our community to keep making and enjoying music.
