On Saturday 26 April , VIS proudly sent a record 59 students to compete in the International Science Fair, presenting 26 diverse and impressive projects. Our students stood out among more than 70 projects representing five different countries, demonstrating not only their scientific knowledge but also their dedication, professionalism, and ingenuity.
Throughout the day, each student group participated in at least three separate judging interviews. Judges were impressed by the depth of understanding and the creativity behind the presentations, frequently noting the maturity and commitment shown by our students. In the afternoon, participants showcased their work to a broader audience of families, friends, and members of the public, while additional interviews were conducted for special award categories.
We are thrilled to share that nine VIS groups earned a total of 10 special awards — a remarkable achievement that reflects the hard work and passion of our students and their mentors.
A special congratulations goes to two of our Grade 9 students who earned the Best in Category award for Math, AI, and Optimization with their project on AI and traffic optimization. Their innovative work also earned them the Overall Best Senior Project, the top prize awarded to students in Grade 9 and above—an extraordinary accomplishment in a field of strong senior-level competitors.
We are incredibly proud of all our student participants for their outstanding representation of VIS and their inspiring commitment to science and discovery.
