Panther Sports Fans Update: International School Tournament

Our last tournaments were in 2019, so these were very special, particularly for our graduating seniors in 12th grade.

Last week, Vienna International School (VIS)hosted four international school tournaments for high school boys and girls volleyball and soccer. Our last tournaments were in 2019, so these were very special, particularly for our graduating seniors in 12th grade.

The VIS Panthers didn’t disappoint as they fought hard in every game all day...always remembering...”sometimes you win, sometimes you learn!”

The varsity boys volleyball team played a fantastic tournament, playing against AISV in the final game. The lead went back and forth with the boys winning the third deciding set to become the DVAC Champions of 2021.

The girls varsity volleyball and girls varsity soccer fought hard to both earn third place, while the boys varsity soccer lost a close one to AISV 1-0, to earn 2nd place honors.

That concludes our DVAC season. We hope that with higher vaccination rates and a reduction in Covid numbers this winter, we will be able to resume our normal tournament and sport season operations soon.

Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for a great fall season, which clearly emphasized the importance of team sports participation and all it can do for the Infinite Mindset!

If you ask me how I want to be remembered, it is as a winner. You know what a winner is? A winner is somebody who has given his best effort, who has tried the hardest they possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and strength within them to accomplish something. It doesn’t mean they accomplished it or failed, it means that they have given their best. That’s a winner.Walter Payton
