Mental Health Awareness Week at VIS

VIS celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week to let the community focus on achieving good mental health for ourselves and those around us.

The Vienna International School (VIS) celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week to let the community focus on achieving good mental health for ourselves and those around us. The last year has reminded us all just how important good mental health is, and that it is something we cannot take for granted. Mental Health Awareness Week is about starting conversations around mental health and reminding all of us to focus on achieving good mental health for ourselves and those around us. This year, the main theme was nature and how it connects to our mental health and well-being, but also how we can support our own mental health and of the people around us.

Throughout the week there were several different activities, such as mindfulness and gratefulness practices. On Wednesday, 12 May, staff and students wore green to show their support of Mental health awareness. With Thursday, 13 May being a day off for the community, we encouraged them to remember their self-care and exercise, at home or outside. On the last day of the Mental Health Awareness week we emphasised the power of friends and family in supporting good mental health. We are grateful that this week we found ways to focus on our own mental health and contributed to increasing the morale and the vitality we all need in our lives.

We hope that this week was an opportunity for everybody to have important conversations, find ways to focus on our own mental health and contribute to increasing the morale and the vitality we all need in our lives.
