IB Pirates & Sailors: Grade 12 Celebrates an Unforgettable Final Day!

What a spectacular send-off! The campus was alive with emotion as our Grade 12 students celebrated their official last day of school. Embracing their spirited graduation theme "IB Pirates & Sailors: We Survived the Storm!" the Class of 2026 marked the end of an incredible academic voyage.

From the energetic, nostalgic first dances in the Octagon to their final, symbolic walk through the Mall, the day was an unforgettable whirlwind of laughter, tight hugs, a few bittersweet tears, and a whole lot of love.

The celebrations beautifully highlighted the deep-rooted friendships that have grown over the years, the unwavering dedication of the teachers who have guided them through every squall, and a graduating class that truly proved they can weather any storm together.

A Message of Pride from the Director

As our Grade 12s prepare to hoist their sails for the final stretch of their journey, VIS Director Antony Geralis shared a powerful message of admiration and encouragement with the graduating class:

"We are proud of your persistence when things became difficult! We are proud of your willingness to ask questions when the answers were not readily apparent! We are proud of your kindness and compassion towards others when they required support! We are proud of your courage to continue moving forward despite uncertainty surrounding the road ahead!

As you embark upon this final stretch, please remember that you do not travel this distance alone. You possess with you the strength of this entire community, your teachers, families, classmates, friends and everyone who supports you and believes in you.

Take a deep breath. Have faith in yourself. Reflect on how far you have traveled. And as you begin these next steps, just as runners do as they prepare to move through the streets of Vienna this weekend, continue to move forward one step at a time with purpose, determination and with passion in your hearts.

We wish you clarity of thought, composure in stressful situations and confidence to showcase all that you can offer.

You have already earned our respect and pride. We now look forward to seeing what you will accomplish!"

Anchors Aweigh, Class of 2026!

The entire VIS community stands behind our "Pirates and Sailors" as they head into their final examinations and future endeavors. You have shown immense resilience, navigate-the-unknown bravery, and true community spirit.

Congratulations, Grade 12 the storm has been weathered, and clear skies lay ahead!
