Grade 3 Street Art Workshop

Engaging in the "How we Express Ourselves" unit, VIS Grade 3 students embarked on a captivating journey into the realm of art and artists.

In a stroke of serendipity, our students had the privilege of welcoming Natascha Eichinger, a former VIS student and current VIS parent, to guide them through an enthralling workshop on Street Art. Natascha shared valuable insights into the history and philosophy behind this unique art form, shedding light on the distinction between Street Art and Graffiti. The students were captivated as they gained a deeper understanding of the artistic movement that adorns the streets and serves as a platform for creative expression.

Under our guest’s expert guidance, Grade 3 students had the incredible opportunity to experiment with non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and washable spray paint—a medium synonymous with Street Art. The students eagerly embraced this unconventional artistic tool, immersing themselves in a world of vibrant colours and bold strokes. The workshop provided a safe and supportive environment for the students to explore their creative instincts, giving free rein to their imaginations.

The joy and enthusiasm that radiated from the students during the workshop were palpable. They revealed in the chance to express themselves through this unique form of artistic expression, unleashing their creativity and embracing the freedom that Street Art embodies. The results were nothing short of remarkable, showcasing the students' burgeoning talent and their ability to translate their emotions and ideas onto a canvas.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Natascha for her invaluable contribution to the Grade 3 Street Art workshop. The profound impact of this experience will continue to resonate within our students, fueling their artistic journeys and inspiring them to explore the boundless possibilities that art offers. Vienna International School remains dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where creativity thrives, empowering our students to express themselves boldly and authentically through various art forms.
