Diplomacy in Action: Grades 9-11 Attend ESADE Model United Nations

A highly motivated delegation of 18 students from Grades 9 through 11 recently embarked on an enriching academic journey to Barcelona and Sant Cugat. Their primary objective was to represent Vienna International School at the prestigious 10th edition of the Barcelona International Model United Nations (BIMUN), hosted by the world-renowned ESADE Business and Law School.

The conference provided a demanding yet exhilarating platform for our young diplomats. Stepping into the shoes of global ambassadors, they engaged in rigorous parliamentary debate, tackled complex geopolitical issues, and honed their negotiation and public speaking skills alongside hundreds of peers from around the globe. Whether drafting comprehensive resolutions or navigating tense committee crises, the VIS delegates demonstrated exceptional critical thinking and deep global awareness.

To balance the intellectual intensity of the formal committee sessions, the group dedicated Sunday to exploring the vibrant culture and historic landmarks of Barcelona. This cultural excursion allowed the students to bond as a team, sample local cuisine, and immerse themselves in the city’s unique architectural atmosphere before returning home.

The experience was a resounding success, offering our students a firsthand look at the realities of international relations and leaving them inspired to continue advocating for positive global change. Congratulations to the entire delegation for representing our school with such distinction on the international stage.
