Change of leadership at the Vienna International School

Dr. John Zuman takes over as Director on August 1st, 2022

Vienna International School (VIS) is pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has appointed Dr. John Zuman as its new Director, starting 1st of August 2022.

Dr. John Zuman brings a wealth of experience to Vienna International School. He began his career as a high school mathematics, science and computer teacher and worked for many years at a math and science education development center and as Executive Director of the Intercultural Center for Research in Education, a non-profit educational institution dedicated to education improvement projects worldwide. Dr. Zuman led the Del Campo International Schools in Honduras, a consortium of five schools, and served for five years as headmaster of the Colegio Colombo Británico, an IB World School in Cali Colombia with 1,300 students. Most recently, Dr. Zuman has led the Bellevue Children’s Academy and Willows Preparatory School, an IB World School in Seattle USA that serves a very diverse student population that hail from 40 countries. Dr. Zuman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and Ed.M. and Ed.D. degrees in Educational Administration from Harvard University. He is a native of the Czech Republic and is fluent in English and Spanish.
