Celebrating UNESCO World Book Day at VIS

A Joyful Celebration of Stories, Characters, and the Love of Reading

On Wednesday, 23 April, the VIS community came together to celebrate UNESCO World Book Day, a special occasion dedicated to the joy of reading and the power of storytelling.

Throughout the day, students across the Primary School engaged in activities that highlighted their favourite books and characters. Each class welcomed a special guest reader - teachers and staff members from the Primary School - who shared books they loved as children, creating meaningful connections across generations of readers.

The school was filled with creativity and colour as students created posters inspired by their favourite stories. Many also came dressed as beloved book characters, sparking lively conversations and bringing the pages of their favourite tales to life.

A true celebration of global literature, the day featured stories in many languages, reflecting the rich diversity of our school community and encouraging students to appreciate books from around the world.

We hope this celebration continues to inspire children and families to explore stories together, share the books they love, and keep reading at the heart of daily life.

Happy World Book Day from all of us at VIS!
