Over three captivating days, Catherine Rayner, a celebrated children’s author and illustrator, delighted students and teachers at VIS with her unique artistic talent and storytelling magic. Known for her enchanting illustrations and heartfelt stories, Catherine has won multiple awards, including the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration.
During her visit, Catherine shared insights into her creative process, demonstrating how simple lines can be transformed into beautiful and expressive artwork. Inspired by her beloved character Abigail, students had the rare opportunity to work directly with Catherine, creating their own drawings that reflected their individuality and imagination.
The workshop was a real treat for the senses—a blend of art, storytelling, and hands-on creativity that left a lasting impression on all who participated. Catherine’s visit was truly a special experience, enriching our community and inspiring young artists to explore their own creative voices.
