Autumn Concert

The Vienna International School (VIS) Autumn Concert was an incredible success.

The VIS music ensembles and soloists presented an amazing concert! Every single group, and there were many, performed at a very high standard.

The entire evening was a testimonial to the dedication and talent of the VIS students.

It would be impossible to know which ensemble to highlight -  all of them were wonderful! The Beginner Band, who learned how to put their instrument together only a few weeks ago, performed their pieces with great accuracy, the Secondary Band got the audience go shout along “Ghost Busters” while IBDP music student Minty Lynch made us think about the climate change with the piece Elegy For the Arctic.

The string groups wowed us with fabulous intonation while IBDP music student Sofie Mathiassen gave us the chills with her touching performance of Someone To Watch Over Me.

The guitar ensemble, under the guidance of David More, was, as always, in top form! Their performance of two contrasting pieces showed excellent technique and musicality.

The Choirs, Middle School and High School choir, ended the concert. Their emotional quest for peace with “Shalom” and “Dona Nobis Pacem” was in strong contrast to the high energy songs “Seize the Day” and “Animal Crackers”.

It was wonderful to be able to perform to a full house! We even had to add more chairs in the back. We are so thankful for the overwhelming support our students receive from the community.
