Secondary School - Deputy Principal
Vienna International School is currently recruiting a Deputy Principal of Secondary School (Grade 6-12, IB MYP and DP) with focus on daily operations, timetable, staff deployment, reporting and data analysis .
The Deputy Principal will form a part of the Secondary Leadership team consisting of the Principal, 2 Deputy Principals and our Curriculum Leaders for the MYP and DP Years.
The ideal candidate will have the following profile (excerpt):
QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT
- A current registration to teach in country of qualification
- at least three years successful experience in a middle level leadership position
- experience working with the IB MYP and/or DP programmes
- experience with timetabling and development of master schedules
- An understanding of evidence-based high-quality teaching and learning
- A high level of interpersonal skills enabling effective communication, team building and leadership
- Proven ability to analyse data and information and identify trends in student learning
- Strong organisational skills
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- An advanced degree in education including a focus on leadership and/or curriculum development
- Previous experience as a Principal or Deputy Principal
- Working knowledge of student information management systems (e.g., Powerschool, Veracross, Managebac)
- Successful experience working in culturally diverse K-12 international schools
- Successful experience in leading and managing people through change
- Experience with NWEA MAP administration
- The ability to propose and implement sustainable and evidence-based change

VIS is seeking to hire employees for the summer to assist several administrative departments, as follows:
- Facilities Department (Maintenance & Procurement)
- IT Department
- Reprographics Department

Job Requirements:
- Availability - minimum one month:
- IT: July, August 2025
- Reprographics: mid of August until mid of September 2025
- Facilities: July, August, September 2025
- EU Citizenship or residence permit / Legitimation card with labour market access
- Maturity, flexibility, and comfort working as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, with a track record of meeting deadlines
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity and dedication to the mission of the VIS.
Working time: These are temporary full-time positions, Monday-Friday, 38,5 hours per week.
Compensation: between € 2,038.00 and € 2,138.00 gross per month, depending on previous work experience. Proportional Christmas and holiday payments are paid in addition.

Our Substitutes and Occasional Workers are called in as needed and are paid on a per hour or per lesson basis. There is no obligation to accept the work offered and no obligation by VIS to offer work.
