VIS is a proud partner of Wiener Festwochen 2019

The Wiener Festwochen opens a space for multidisciplinary work that is visionary while being aware of the history, that is international but anchored in the city.

From 10 May to 16 June 2019, Vienna is hosting Wiener Festwochen 2019, a festival dedicated to artistic creations. The Wiener Festwochen opens a space for multidisciplinary work that is visionary while being aware of the history, that is international but anchored in the city.

Over a period of five weeks, the festival invites one to embrace complexity and nuances through the works of more than 40 artists, strong original voices that defy fashion and correctness. During the opening weekend, starting in one particular district (22nd – Donaustadt), the festival will present a series of artistic projects developed specifically for this neighborhood.

On 12 May 2019, Vienna International School will host the “Corbeaux” (the Crows), a performance put together in 2014 by Bouchra Ouizguen, a pioneer or contemporary Moroccan dance. Women of all ages in a seemingly trance-like state use dance to evoke countless associations: creation and exhaustion, beauty and danger, nomads and birds, the power of womanhood and its oppression in many societies. You are all invited to enjoy the Corbeaux and Wiener Festwochen 2019, a remarkable collection of theatre productions, orchestra concerts and recitals, which come to crown Vienna as an outstanding cultural metropolis.
