VIS achieves great results in World Economics Cup

The WEC is an annual economics competition to empower the next generation of leaders in the field.

The World Economics Cup (WEC) is an annual economics competition for talented high school students who are interested in economics, aiming to identify and empower the next generation of leaders in the economics field.

Students need not only thinking skills and problem-solving abilities but also approach real-world problems in an innovative way in order to succeed in the contest. More than thirty different countries participate annually in the WEC.

Over the summer, six Grade 12 Economics students from Vienna International School took part in the national preliminary round and scored excellent results, well above the global average for each of the three competition sections. In addition, in the next competition which followed in September, the VIS team representing Austria, came 7th in the overall competition and an excellent 4th in the ‘Thinking and Innovation’ Team presentation.

A great effort by all of the student team, which made our teachers and school very proud! More info about the World Economics Cup here: https://www.worldeconcup.org/wec-2021
