ISAA Swimming Competition in Athens

On Sunday, 19 March, the VIS Swim Team returned from ISAA Swim Meet in Athens, organized by the American Community School of Athens and attended by international schools from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Thanks to the excellent organization and discipline in the team, the students managed to see some beautiful sights of Athens and even visited the Acropolis.

The competition was extremely difficult not only physically, but even more so emotionally. However, our students managed to take control of adrenaline and turn it into super energy, demonstrating their swimming skills, great determination and desire to win! All swimmers improved their personal performance and almost all swam faster than the individual goals set by the coach, receiving multiple medals as follows:

Anna Mayorova got 2 Silver medals for 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle, 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m mixed medley varsity relay and 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m girls varsity freestyle relay.

Maya Lowry got 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m mixed medley varsity relay and 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m girls varsity freestyle relay.

Alessia Duruttya got 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m girls varsity freestyle relay.

Iman Machibi got 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m girls varsity freestyle relay

Adam Morris got 1 Bronze medal for 100m IM and 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m mixed medley varsity relay.

Morgan Prosser got 1 Bronze medal for 4x50m mixed medley varsity relay.

Oliver Rheaume was the only swimmer on our team to swim the hardest 200m freestyle.

Well done, everyone! All of our athletes have shown great progress in technique, including excellent starts, fast turns and precise touches. However, we still have work to do in the second semester. Please join us in congratulating all VIS Swimmers and coach Dmitry Khalin for their hard work, a strong will to win and great results!
