A Remarkable Donation of Art Book Collection

The Visual Arts Department at Vienna International School (VIS) recently received an extraordinary donation that holds great significance.

In memory of the late Mrs. Maurine Mellinger-Deroy, the Visual Arts Department was presented with the entire collection of Easton Press collector's edition art reference books. Known for her passion for the arts, Mrs. Mellinger-Deroy dedicated her life to promoting artistic expression and nurturing creativity. By gifting this comprehensive collection, her memory and legacy will continue to inspire future generations of artists and art enthusiasts.

This generous gesture was made by Elisabeth and Sophie Deroy, the daughters of Maurine and Jean-Marc Deroy, who were former students at VIS, having graduated in 2007. Elisabeth and Sophie have a deep-rooted connection with Vienna International School. Having completed their education at VIS and formed lasting bonds within the school community, the Deroy family recognizes the significant role that VIS played in their lives.

The Visual Arts Department is thrilled to receive the entire collection of Easton Press collector's edition art reference books. This prestigious collection comprises a comprehensive array of art-related topics, including renowned artists, art history, techniques, and influential movements. The books are beautifully bound and meticulously curated, making them an invaluable resource for students and faculty alike. This generous donation will enhance the educational environment, providing students with unparalleled access to diverse artistic knowledge.

We hereby send a heartfelt thank-you message to the Deroy family, expressing the school's appreciation for their thoughtfulness and generosity. This act of kindness will be cherished and celebrated, leaving a lasting impact on the school community, towards fostering artistic exploration and inspiring future generations of talented individuals.
