Holocaust survivors visit Vienna International School

Our students came away from the evening having a unique experience and gaining a better understanding of the past and our guests enjoyed sharing their experiences.

On Tuesday, 26 March 2019, Vienna International School (VIS) once again hosted Café Centropa. Centropa is a non-profit, Jewish historical institute dedicated to preserving 20th century Jewish family stories and photos from Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and disseminating these stories and photos through films, books and exhibitions.

Café Centropa is a regular gathering of Holocaust survivors that live here in Vienna. Our seventeen guests met with the Grade 10 students that are currently studying the Holocaust and told them their experiences during that time under the Nazi regime. Our guests had a great range of experiences that they were willing to share with our students.
