Curriculum & Extra-Curricular

Curriculum

The VIS campus has undergone a deep cleaning during summer following our cleaning partners’ infectious disease protocol.

To provide for student and teacher safety, desks in classrooms have been placed according to the Ministry of Education standards, and classroom density has been minimized by removing furniture.

Touched surfaces in classrooms will be cleaned daily. Shared materials will be disinfected after every class.

All classrooms will be ventilated by opening the windows during class times and during class disinfection at the end of each day.

Students will be encouraged to wash and sanitize their hands frequently.

The PE (Physical Education) classes will take place preferably outdoors with respecting the distance between the students.

The students will need to wear masks when using the changing rooms before and after the PE lessons.

Disinfection of common materials (sport equipments) will be done after every PE lesson.

The Music classes will take place as before and students will need to keep distance from each other in the music room.

If there is singing involved, the students and teacher will need to wear masks. However, If the singing lesson will take place outdoor and the needed distance can be maintained, then students will not need to wear masks.

Disinfection of common materials (shared instruments, art shared supplies) will be done after every lesson.

There will be no off campus trips, camps, sport tournaments or any travel organised until January 2021. The School will review the trips for the second half of the school year.

Extra-Curricular Programmes

VIS will follow guidelines by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. Fortunately, our spacious campus provides opportunities for students to participate in activities in a socially distanced environment.

Our Extra curricular programmes (Afterschool Activities, Competitive Sports, Performing Arts, VISMA, Mother Tongue and Extended Day Care) will be organised by respecting the following government guidelines:

  • Activities should be organised per grade level (there will be no mix of students from different grades in one activity).
  • Students need to maintain the recommended distance from each other.
  • If unable to maintain the recommended distance, students will be instructed by activity leaders to wear a mask.

Please follow the weekly newsletter for more details regarding the offer and enrolment details for the Extra-Curricular Programmes.
